Hi my name is Don and there could be better advise than this when I was a young man starting out in this business I had contracted a burn out and was working on the roof line.
The owner has leased a trailer and was staying right across the way as we were removing some of the burnt out roof joist we cut a brace we thought was of no use just as the owner walked out his front door with a cup of coffe in his hand.
The front of the building had a huge dormer than ran the entire front of the building as we cut the brace the other braces were not strong enough to hold it , and the entire dormer came crashing down right before his eyes.
As long as I live I will never forget the look on his face, needless to say after bulding a new dormer there was very little to no profit left.
So yes a professional that truly know what he is doing is a must, that was twenty three years ago and we no longer make such rookie mistakes
